M.H. Bread and Butter is a busy bakery cafe in San Anselmo just north of the Golden Gate Bridge dedicated to making everything in house with high quality ingredients and an attention to detail.

This position is best suited for someone looking to expand their knowledge of high-hydration doughs and natural starter by joining our team.

-Responsibilities and Roll

• Bread mixing, baking and shaping with other bakers
• Organization of daily tasks
• Proofing and baking of breads
• Daily production of breads.

Skills needed

• Knowledge in natural fermentation methods

• FoodSafe certified

Hours are 4am-12pm and may include weekends. Pay is determined on experience. Currently, we are looking for a variety of floating positions with the possibility of moving into cashier/barista positions. Due to our high volume of customers, this position prefers previous food service experience.

Cashiers : 8 hour shifts range from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

Pleasantly lead guests through menu options with a display of thorough knowledge including all pastries, bread, desserts and beverages

Cross-sell products, display seasonal option knowledge, and introduce new ones

Resolve customer complaints, guide them through the limited modification policy, and provide relevant information

Lead customers through, and receive payment for, special orders with the bakery

Answer all phone calls, return voicemails, and complete all phone orders with personalized care

Handle cash and credit card transactions with customers using square POS system

Keep clean and tidy checkout areas

Maintain stock on display throughout the day

Maintain quality cash handling skills including; maintaining a difference no larger than $10 between deposits and expected cash reports; counting, confirming and reporting cash deposits

Complete all duties specified in opening and closing procedures including but not limited to: setting up/breaking down patio furniture, thoroughly cleaning the displays, locking up the establishment, appropriately record wasted items and donations

Qualifications:

• CA Food Handlers Card
• 1-2 years food service experience
• Counting/mathematics skills
• Positive and energetic attitude
• Clean and professional appearance
• Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
• Attention to detail and customer experience
